Organisers of OutdoorXpo are thrilled to announce a new partnership with The Ramblers, Britain’s walking charity, to headline the festival's Hiking section.

Landing at the NEC Birmingham over the weekend of 20 to 21 March 2027, OutdoorXpo is the dawn of a new era in adventure designed for anyone who loves spending time outside. The weekend brings the outdoor community together. Experts who love their craft lead eight distinct zones run by people who live and breathe these pursuits: hiking, climbing, camping and bushcraft, water, trail running, cycling, adventure travel, and family activities.

Designed for adventurers of every level, OutdoorXpo is a gathering built for connection and discovery. It allows participants to link up with fellow trailblazers, acquire hands-on wilderness skills, and find the ultimate inspiration for next-level journeys.

The Ramblers, Britain’s walking charity is dedicated to improving paths, standing up for access to nature and helping people get walking. Ramblers volunteers across Britain work to improve the paths people rely on, organise over 90,000 walks each year and fight for better funding to help prevent blocked or unusable paths, as well as taking on legal cases that protect people’s right to walk. Currently, the charity is campaigning to tackle political and financial neglect of the path network.
Their Access Denied campaign mobilises supporters to demand that governments treat outdoor access as a basic human right by removing physical and geographic barriers.

The Hiking section of OutdoorXpo headlined by The Ramblers, brings the joy of walking to life through personal stories, practical workshops, and live conversations. It caters to everyone - whether you are looking for gentle weekend strolls, technical long-distance trails, or just an accessible local path to start. It is a hands-on space where you can get your boots properly fitted, test out new gear, and master outdoor survival skills alongside a community of fellow walkers. In 2027, the section is championed by Rhiane Fatinikun MBE. Since founding Black Girls Hike in 2019, Rhiane has dedicated her work to building welcoming, empowering spaces for Black women to explore and enjoy the British countryside.

“We are thrilled to partner with OutdoorXpo," said Carol Flint, Head of Communications and Campaigns at The Ramblers. “Everything The Ramblers does is about breaking down barriers so everyone can enjoy time outdoors.  Walking and hiking give us all the chance to enjoy nature, discover new places, spend time with others and feel the benefits of being outdoors. Our shared vision is to help more people enjoy the benefits of walking, safely and responsibly.  Headlining the hiking section of the show places the charity at the heart of where the outdoor community and industry meet, making it a great way for more people to discover and support the work of The Ramblers.”
